My new phone, the HTC Evo LTE, is having some issues with Gizmo. It runs fine on screen, but when I switch to another app it will kill Gizmo in a couple minutes.
This is a stock phone direct from Sprint, no rooting, memory managers, or other add-on apps that might be killing the service.

I've noticed some other apps have added a notification icon in order to keep the service running in the background. Maybe you could give that a try; it would be killing two birds with one code
