Google Nexus 7 & MC17?
« on: June 28, 2012, 06:10:18 am »

Would it be possible on a Nexus 7 to use MC17 in the same way i use my laptop as a remote control for MC?

At the moment i use the key that MC17 generates, and type that key into the copy of MC17 installed on my laptop, i forgot what this function is called but thats what i do. Is that possible do to on an android tablet? Or is gizmo still the best option?

Thanks!

Gizmo is the best option for Android.  WebGizmo also works.

Ok cool, so there's not yet a way to have full functionality of MC17 on android?

Gizmo's great but would be good to have a few extra options

cool, cheers dude, Gizmo's good enough really anyway, not enough to justify buying an android tablet when i already have an android phone, but good nonetheless!

I noted this in another forum, but when used on the Nexus 7, Gizmo will not allow any video files to be played on the Nexus 7. Any way to address this?

We have one in the mail, so we should be able to fix this.

There is a new copy of Gizmo available.  With the latest beta, video will work.  We still have a lip sync problem to solve.

Yes... almost. I don't know if this is what you want. But, what I did, is to set a VMWare that acts as the laptop. And I connect to it through RDP with my iPad. It works well, except the scrolling who is not very user friendly.

I'm guessing the beta isn't the version on the Play store.  Where can we get it?

and when video is working, would it be from a updated version of Gizmo (which is free) or would I have to buy a new version of JRiver?

thanks.
