Audio Output to Samsung Blu Ray
« on: December 05, 2012, 05:24:19 pm »

I'm trying to play audio files  mostly flac, aif, m4a files.

They normally have played fine sending direct to my blu ray ---> DAC setup as 24bit files.  With J River, I'm getting nothing but hiss when I send them as anything but converted to MP3.

I have the server set to Samsung BP/TV  and have tried generic DLNA  trying all manner of conversion 24bit, etc.

Any help is appreciated

Correction...

L16 works  but not 24bit.  I have a 24bit DAC.

Try the settings in the Wiki topic called "DAC Settings".

Thanks.

I'll give that a try but I thought those settings only refer to if I'm sending out via my spdif output to my DAC -- something I may land up doing anyway.
For now I'm using my BRP as my controller via LAN connection to my router and the digital output from that to my DAC.

You're correct.  I missed the part about DLNA.

Yup.
Getting a little frustrated.  I know I can send large 24bit flacs through through my blu ray out to my DAC but somehow I cant figure out how to do it in J River.
Anyone been able to do that?

If you're playing from MC direct to your DAC, the topic I gave you above will help.

Try convert always, 24 bit wave. Under the Audio->Advanced, you may need to specify the sample rate if you have mixed material.
