Some Media Renderers (MC17) not visible on server -- Solved
« on: January 09, 2013, 09:07:14 am »

Hi

A very basic question for which I have looked some, but have not found an answer:

I have instances of Media Center 17 open on two different computers on the network, and the server library is loaded on each. However, neither of them is visible on the server as a renderer. I have a third PC on which I have a client open, and that is visible as a renderer on the server. Is there some setting on MC I have to enable for the other renderers to be visible, or could it be a network issue on my LAN/windows firewall setting on the client PC?

Thanks.

Check the Media Network settings in MC.  Look under Advanced.

DLNA Server, Renderer, Controller are all checked on the server.

Anything I need to do on the client side?

P.S. How can I attach images easily?

Also, based on a post below,

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=76827.0

I installed upnp developer tools, and I cannot see the said renderers in Device Spy. The renderer that shows up on the server is visible.

Thanks.

Solved!

It was one of those Duh! moments.

For some reason, the client side Media sharing was turned off.

Sorry about wasting everybody's bandwidth here.
