automatic track labeling
« on: February 22, 2013, 09:27:14 pm »

ripping CDs:  MC works fine, automatically labels tracks

Can it do the same for tape/vinyl?
I'm currently using audacity to record the music, separating tracks and entering labels by hand.
isn't there an internet database of some sort that can automate the process?
thanks

A common method to lookup CDs is to supply the numbers of tracks and for each track the duration. This almost uniquely identifies a CD.
The moment you record LPs, you can have the same number of tracks but the duration will probably be different.

As JRiver has no user configurable options for lookup and has a very limited database; your best bet is a tool like MP3Tag.
Select the recorded tracks, supply the name of the album manual  and do a lookup using FreeDB or Amazon
