Need help getting original Album names
« on: March 07, 2013, 12:31:08 pm »

Due to a virus, I recently lost and corrupted  JRiver library..  (I lost my backups too) I've managed to recover and fix everything...
except my issue with missing / incorrect album names...  about 500 album names are missing...  and JRiver will not "get cover art from internet" without the album name..

I am hoping someone might suggest a  method to get missing or wrong album names. (without manually searching and entering,, 500 will take a week!)
I would like to get  the original album names that the artist released the song on, avoiding compilations and various artist albums..

Thanks for any help!!

Sorry about your loss.

You may be able to get some of them by using MC's "Lookup Track Info ..." tool.  It's under Tools/Library Tools.

Select a few audio tracks and right click to try it before you do very many.

yea thx , these 500 or so are the ones that "Look up Track info" or "update library from tags" did not populate..
Can someone suggest a 3rd party tagging software that might help get this tagg info?

Do the albums live in a folder path that contains the Album name?
