Kickstarter for full Cablecard certification?
« on: March 28, 2013, 12:50:23 pm »

Hey just wanted to see if you guys had ever considered posting a kickstarter to raise funds for full cablecard certification.

There are many enthusiasts that think JRiver is the most complete media center out there, however, cablecard still ties a lot of people to WMC.

If you had a kickstarter to fund this i would think you would have no trouble raising the money to attain full certification.

Just a thought.

In this regard. I almost contributed to the HDHomeRun kickstarter.
But the current work going into MC for TV support has been great.
So i decided to save my money for anything regarding MC instead.

I'm currently lucky enough to get all the channels with no DRM
But i worry if they change their minds. I would be stuck figuring out what to do.

I saw the kickstarter campaign a few days ago but I like having an All-in-one solution which JRiver provides, and a simple one time fee. I'm curious as to what is going to happen with cable companies over the next few years with more and more content being available online. The only reason I would consider an upgraded TV package is for NBA or NFL games but TNT has been airing all the games online this playoff season. I wonder if its possible to view games on JRiver through NBA league pass.
