Album Artwork/Tag for WAV
« on: March 30, 2013, 12:05:08 pm »

I ripped a cd using iTunes WAV format, added artwork using iTunes, song title, artist name and artwork was tagged on every song.  I added album to MC18 (18.0.156) library, it showed as "Unknown Album by Unknown Artist."  I selected album and in Tools, Library Tools, Look up Track Info from Online Database, but only first song got tagged with artwork and info, and every time I tried the same w/ other songs, I got "No information was found for this file."  Has anyone been able to get that to work?  I understand that the way to go is to rip cd in FLAC format, but I don't see the rip cd feature in Mac version, do I need to burn files in MC18 for pc then transfer to Mac?  It wouldn't be pleasant to do that for over 5000 cds.

Does iTunes write WAV tags (ID3v2)?  If not, the files won't have metadata when you import them into JRiver.

It might work to rip to ALAC with iTunes, as I believe it will have tags.

We hope to get secure ripping inside MC working on Apple, but it may be a couple months.
