License
« on: March 31, 2002, 08:30:08 am »

I recently upgraded to Windows 2000 and when I came to restore my license it said it had done so but when I went to Help to backup the license the feature was greyed out. I am assuming that the restore did not work correctly.

Leslie

Did you try restoring the license from a floppy disk?

Try to ignore the unimaginative cheap shots from those befuddled with life in general and who take their frustration out on JRiver. [please delete this part if you delete the above sarcastic drivel-laden post]

If you're still unsuccessful, please post back here.

The file name is correct and I have tried restoring from a floppy.  Still no luck.

It might also help if you tell JimH What Is The Full version # Of MJ You Are Using.

I Think There Was An Issue Depending On The Version Number.

which words are in question? I do tend to make up words as I go.

[I just went back and fixed one]

Obviously, the post above it and for which it was intended was deleted.

Hvy Duty

Sorry--you just hit a sore spot. My parents were illiterate mountain hillbillies that had their own clannish language, and I didn't attend non-backwoods hillbilly schools until I went to college. I've spent my entire adult life learning that most of the words that I grew up with were made up by my parents. Steve Martin once did a routine about how funny it would be to teach a pre-school age child all the wrong words for things. Bet his parents, too, were hillbillies.
