Can JRiver do this
« on: May 22, 2013, 08:59:47 am »

I just picked up an Oppo 105 and am looking to use it to stream music.  Can JRiver stream wirelessly to the Oppo player such that I can control my library using JRemote?  I'm looking to replace my Airport Express if I can keep the convenience of using the iPad to control JRiver, not sure if it's doable though.

I should note that I've gotten JRiver successfully set up as a DLNA server such that the Oppo can connect, browse, and play files from JRiver.  The missing piece is the ability to control things using the JRemote interface.  I think that in order for that to work though it's going to require that JRiver PUSH to the Oppo, which is fundamentall different than what I'm currently doing and may not be possible.

If you can play to a device from JRiver, then the device is a Renderer.

Please use this thread for JRemote questions:

I apologize as this is likely covered elsewhere and I'm not finding it, but I think my fundamental question is 'How do I play to a device from JRiver'?  I see the options in the output settings (Default, build in output, airplay, and my Dac), would the Oppo be listed there?

It should be in Playing Now, in the top section.
