Trouble Controlling Yamaha BD-A1010 using DLNA
« on: June 08, 2013, 08:58:46 pm »

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone else has a Yamaha BD-A1010 Blu Ray....I am having issues with not being able to control it using DLNA..
I have checked all my settings but can not get it to stream by Pushing........pulling works fine.
Wondering if there is a setting I have missed ?

Yes, as I said...I can Pull but pushing to the Yamaha BD-A1010 Blu Ray from J River isn't working for me.
I can push to the Amp Yamaha RX-A1000 just not to the Blu Ray.....it sees both devices in J River

Not all devices will work in both directions (with any software).

Does it show up as a zone? What type of material are you trying to push to it?

Thanks for taking the time to reply, yes it shows as a zone......I have attempted to send both Music & Video.....
I am able as I said do this with the Amp, but as was stated this device wont allow material to be pushed, perhaps the issue is with
the device....I can pull from it.

Just thought perhaps another forum member might have the same component and was able to.

You could try a couple of things,
Right-click on the Yamaha zone, find the DLNA controller options, select the "Disable SetNext Support".
Try again.
If it still doesn't work go to
Options->Media Network->Add or configure DLNA servers->[server name, likely Generic DLNA]->Advanced. Unclick DLNAExtra and DLNA, that way you get a minimal UPnP server.
See if it works.
Last idea, in Options->Media Network->Add or configure DLNA servers->[server name, likely Generic DLNA]->Audio change the mode to "Specified Format" and PCM L16 No Header
