Clipping problem
« on: June 15, 2013, 05:45:07 pm »

Hi, I'm trying JRiver now for a trialperiod and would like to buy it but I can't get rid of the clipping problem.
I've read several internet topics but I can't find the right solution. I have Twonky before and had never this problem.
Especially women voices tend to clip. Can someone help with the right advice? Greets Erik from The Netherlands

In DSP studio have you changed overflow protection in the lower left corner from Clip Protection to Flat Line Overflows?
Media Center should not be clipping audio at all.

Try the other audio settings.  WASAPI can be set two ways.

I've put all my music through "Analyse Audio" and it's tagged for ReplayGain.

In DSP Studio, I set up the following:
  • Check Volume Levelling
  • Mode - Track Based
  • Adjustment - Automatic based on Current Playlist
  • Set Clip Protection in the relevant box

Whether by design or good luck, I've not had a problem.

I also don't drive my amp hard. So, that's another potential point where sound can clip.

Have you had a look at the Analyser in DSP Studio to confirm that the issue is with MC and not with your amp?
