audio stuttering wtih sacd iso since windows 8 update
« on: July 30, 2013, 01:45:53 pm »

I had W7 on my computer with mediacenter 17, I have a quad core processor, my soundcard is a  asus hdav1.3 deluxe driven by MC with asio driver
I use that to listen to multichannels sacd, it was working nicely so far

I updated to windows 8 this afternoon, MC tolds me to reinstall it , I did but with mc18, and i was glad there was no changes into my settings.

when I tried to listen to music, the audio was stuttering a lot, so I updated my sound cards driver with those for windows 8, no change.

I tried to change, buffering settings, latency, sample rate ect no change at all

If I play the 2 channels part of the sacd, no stutter, only with the multichannels tracks.

when I play the 2 channels track my cpu load is at 12%, when multichannels  around 40%, but still I had no issue with W7 and MC17

so if someone can help me

thank u

regards

Try switching to Wasapi if you can. I have trouble with Asus ASIO too on Windows 8.

I'll try and I guess it would work, but there will be a loss of quality, hope asus will deliver a functional driver soon
