So I'm playing an album and MC looses its connection to the DAC.
I restart MC and it comes back up with another error.
So I restart the Mac and the router.
I start playing the track where I left off and it does the 5 sec un-happy dance.
I restart MC again and this time it plays.

Are you running other DLNA server programs on the same computer, such as eLyric? We have another user that had similar problems until they disabled eLyric and a Logitech server program:

I downloaded the 18.0.218 (9/11/2013) and have it installed in my mac mini (Mac Mini 2011 mid 2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 8G RAM 1333 MHz DDR3 500G HDD Mac OSX Lion)
But i cannot use it as it keeps kicking me out of the programme after each 10 second.
I uninstalled and reinstalled again but same problem coming out.
Please advise.

Yes, like Peter_T said, please send a log file to johnt at jriver dot com. In Peter's case, it appears to be one of the custom library fields causing a problem, but from your description it sounds like a new install with an empty library, it that right?

Here's a weird bug I didn't think merited its own new topic. Situation:
- VMWare Fusion running, which makes for weird keyboard action, I know
- Caps Lock on in VM (which means that caps is not on in OS X)
- Going back to MC, hitting Cmd+2 (to bounce in and out of mini view) actually rates the track instead. Caps lock off, and you're ok, but it's like MC sees caps lock as a shift press. Any other hotkey that requires shift+modifier key appears to have the same behavior. (I tried testing it out but I couldn't remember many hotkeys.)
Just an FYI weird little thing.

Short answer, no.
This is the only audio function on this computer. It uses either the MC DLNA or USB but not both at the same time.
I gave up on EMM last year, it didn't work very well at all.
