You sound disgruntled. And I perceive you coming off as rather authoritarian, and sometimes pushing your opinion a bit much.
Give these folks the benefit of the doubt. I think you've mentioned you did some soft. engineering work in the past. Try recalling (or imagining) what it is like be constrained by the development pressures, deadlines, customer demands, and financial constraints dictated by a small company that has not broken out.
You're not happy with JRiver's attention to other platforms, and the lack of attention for you. You're not the proxy voice for other customers, so you can only speak to your own dissatisfaction.
And don't assume the bargain you make is the deal JRiver accepts (one hour your time = one minute their time). That's a one-sided contract you authored and executed in your own mind. Help users because you like helping users, with no expectations of reward. Otherwise, maybe there are more fulfilling endeavors better suited to your temperament.
