Not all audio files won`t add to library
« on: December 29, 2013, 03:18:10 pm »

Hi, new with JRiver and first time post.

Downloaded demoversion 19 for Windows 7 and all files added as default, noticed that not all of my music albums were in the library, miss
about 100 of 2800. Have only mp3,m4a,wma and all added are playable, tried with a couple of different searchmode in File Location/Audio/Folder rule/Filename rule, no difference, miss the same amount of album after re-scan.

Deleted library, reboot and tried to add again as above, same result as before. All added files and cover pictures playes and show up well.
In folders are there a separate cover-picture and picture are embedded with most of the audiofiles.

Have been using Winamp for many years and had not that kind of problem.
Only intrested in adding audio files and cover-pictures in JRiver.
All audio files are on a separate internal disk with only audio folders.
Is there any way to figure out which album-folders can not be added and why?

Any thoughts are welcome, thanks!

Welcome to Interact.  Take a look at the tags for both Artist and Album Artist.

WMA files can be protected (DRM) and might not be imported.

My WMA files are ripped CD`s and added and playable in JRiver.

I was hoping on a scanreport from JRiver when adding files who tells witch 108 albums who are bad tagged, to go through 2800 album manually to find the bad 108 albums who`s missing is not an option for me.
Any possible way round this?

Thanks!

If you manually run auto-import, it should give you a list of the tracks which were skipped.
If you still have difficulty importing the files, perhaps email a couple to logs[at]jriver[dot]com

O`boy..... Took the hard road, checked nearly all albums and artists, find albums with the same albumname ex. Best of and Favourites.
In Best of there was 78 albums........
Now I have all my album listed in JRiver, very pleased with the soundquality, like a blanket where lifted from the sound, nice...... :)

Gonna enjoy JRiver a couple of day and then buy it and be a happy camper here!

Thanks to JimH who kicked me at the right direction.

6233638; tryed your hint but MC where offcourse not able to produce such a scanreport, but it reported a corrupted mp3 file.

Thanks!
