When I run the script in Automator with the playlist file created in iTunes, it did not return any results. (in regard to above topic)

Any alternative solutions?

Where can I find detailed explanation for transfering playlists?

thank you..

Despite jtwrace all efforts to help I still can't get playlist (songs) from iTunes properly.

Even though I can transfer a playlist from iTunes to MC the songs don't transfer. So the only thing I get is a name for the playlist but the playlist remains empyt.

Can you zip the iTunes playlist and attach it here to a reply, and I'll take a look.

The Automator script converted the file correctly.  You just need to use MC to import it (File > Import Playlist).

Note: the paths inside the playlist must be correct, or MC won't import the files.  Open the playlist with a text editor and check them.  It isn't clear from this thread if this playlist came from a local iTunes or one on another machine.

I am using an external Hard Drive, both iTunes and Mc are reading files from this Disk.

The paths inside the playlist appears to be correct in the Text Editor. When I import the playlist to MC it shows up under the "imported playlists" but no songs appear under the playlist.

I have tried it on another laptop with local music files in case of an external path problem. But it failed exactly as before.

I assume I am following all the steps correctly. But surely something missing or going wrong.

Is there a chance that I can not do the conversion right in the Automator?

This seems to be an MC Mac problem.  Neither MC18 nor MC18 are importing Unix/Mac style paths in an M3U playlist.

Currently I'm using MC 19.0.74.

Will there be a fix for this problem? A lot of people are waiting this issue to be resolved to move from iTunes to JRiver.

Is there any progress about this situation? Is there an alternative way to sort out this problem?

It's been over a month now and I'm still unable to use my MC.

If MrC is correct, it's a bug.  You can report it as a post in the thread that announced the build.  Make sure you are using the latest build first.

It's probably the same thing as reported in this thread:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=85293.0
It should be fixed in an upcoming build after the Holidays.
