I just installed 19 and am experiencing some unusual behavior.
My desktop has NAS 5 redundancy storage and acts as the server. I have 2 clients (3, actually, with an iPad and Parallels Access) - an old Toshiba ultralight that runs Windows XP and a new Microsoft Surface Pro running Windows 8. The desktop is Windows 7, with loads of resources. With my prior laptop client and MC 18, the server ran flawlessly and I didn't experience crashes.
About a week ago, I upgraded to MC 19 at almost the same time I replaced the old laptop client with the Surface.
Since then, I have begun experiencing server crashes, primarily but not exclusively when I access the server with the Surface. The error message is that the program terminated prematurely due to a run-time error. The message isn't numerically coded - it simply bears the caption Visual C++. I tried checking to see if I needed to reinstall elements of that on the server, but I apparently have the full house.
I've read through the Forum and know that there's unhappiness with the Surface, esp. Jim and Matt, but I'm stuck with it for the moment if that's the problem. I haven't regressed to 18 yet in the hope that I can find a different solution.
Has anyone else experienced this behavior? It's possible there's some program conflict I haven't identified yet but there haven't been any new/changed programs on the server and its hard to believe that a new piece of hardware running Windows 8 is in and of itself triggering this.
Any suggestions will be welcome.
