Antivirus Questions
« on: January 27, 2014, 03:00:08 am »

So if the only connection to the internet is to Netflix and Youtube, I'm safe against viruses? I am new to all of this. My assumption was that I could uninstall the AV if I was not going to connect to the internet, like just for a video and audio files?

I'll move that to a separate topic.  We're not suggesting that you run without an antivirus program indefinitely.  Just do so long enough to test whether it is causing problems.  Disconnect from the network if you like.

On the flip side to these AV issues, I'd like to report that MC19 is working fine with Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 on Windows. Then again, I made it a point to exclude MC and add it to the trusted programs list.

It is important to understand that A/V working/not-working now does not mean anything for how it will work in the near or distant future.  This is because the A/V definitions and heuristics that are typically auto-updated (often daily) are always changing and false positives or negatives are just something you have to live with.
