GIZMO Android Remote Question
« on: January 28, 2014, 03:12:08 am »

Morning Guys, using an Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 with the Gizmo Android App - working great ! Couple
requests though.

- Why do we need internet access to be able to firstly connect to a Hotspot before the Gizmo
APP connects to the MC Server ?

- Is it possible to show time played and time left of a track in the Now playing Window instead
of just the single track length.

Thanks for the great product.

Regards

In MC options, you can generate an Access Key in the Media Network section.  Try a search here and on our wiki.

It's explained here, for instance:

We connect to the internet because an Access Key needs it.  It's stored at JRiver and returned from a web call.

Ok here is my issue ... I have a wireless LAN and both the PC and Phone is wirelessly connected to the router. Note that the DSL cable
for internet access is disconnected hence no internet access.

In the router device config it lists both pc and phone but when I try to run Gizmo its "looking up access key" and
then gives me the error:

"There was a problem connecting to the server"
"Please double check that you have entered the correct key, and that the server and your connection are working"

Am I doing something wrong ? It seems that I require Internet access for Gizmo to work 100%.

Please confirm.

With your Gizmo device, try putting in ServerIPAddress:52199 as a server to play from. Example:

192.168.1.1:52199

Then connect. Of course, on your server you will need Media Network enabled through Tools/Options/Media Network, and you will need to know its ip address.

You do not need internet access to run Gizmo as long as both devices are on the same network.
