Today I made dehydrated rubberduckie
« on: February 06, 2014, 08:48:42 pm »

Today I made dehydrated rubberduckie, Yep

First I took the rubberduckie and pressure cooked it, then shredded it up, then put it in my dehydrator.

why you ask?

I have been experimenting with cooking in my car, using an array of 12volt cooking appliances, and devices.

I have even tested cooking in a microwave oven in my back seat using a power inverter (you should not use a modified wave inverter, the cheaper of the two).

by the way I modified my car and ran 4 AWG wire (from a car power amp kit) direct from my Vehicle battery to the inside and using high amp rated accessory port. some cars cigarette lighters are only rated for 10 amps, and some camping food heating devices run from 11 to 15 amps.

so after all that I went to my car boiled some water, and poured it into my bowl with some Asian noodles, and added the dehydrated rubberduckie, along with some Dehydrated vegetables (it was good). my wife was looking out the door at me eating my lunch setting in my car in the drive way.

I used a Aladdin 24-Ounce Lunch Bowl Container http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007KYPQ44/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

this technique is used by many backpackers to reduce the weight of there packs and still have good tasting meals when on the go without paying the high prices of camping food.

well it was not rib eye, but it was something you could survive on if needed.

I am not sure if you know this but many of the chicken and turkey dog treats are made in china, and there has been many recalls due to the antibiotics they use, that are not authorized in the USA. I am thinking about making my own for my dogs, and I did test it on them and they seem to enjoy what I made yesterday.
