SACD ISO Tagging - interim solution
« on: May 23, 2014, 09:42:12 am »

Hi all
I have tagged all my SACD ISOs in MC19 and have now run up against MC19's nasty habit of overwriting the tags in the liabrary with the taga information inside the ISO (which it seems to think is newer, as outlined in this thread http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=86849.0 ).
I have come up with the following solution, that I would like some help on.
All my ISOs sit in directories (Artist\Album) and the next to the ISO sits folder.jpg which contains the cover art.
Is it possible to use JRiver's expression language to automatically read Artist, Album from the folder structure and fill the tags with them (populating both Artist and Album Artist with Artist). Then I would like to import folder.jpg as cover art. Given the expression language of JRiver is very powerful this should be possible, but I have no clue where to start.
Could someone point me in the right direction, please?
Then I could simply run this expression every time I add ISOs or MC19 overwrites the tags.
Thanks and regards
Rudi

MC won't overwrite your tags unless you tell it to.

In MC's Library Tools, explore the two tools that can move metadata from MC's library to the files or vice versa.

Are you up to date? That bug should have been fixed as of build 115.

Shame on me, I was not using the latest version of MC.
Thanks a lot for the hint
