I'm experiencing regular crashes of J 19 on my mac pro OS X 10.9.4
Would appreciate if somebody would help me to solve the problem.

Was any previous build working?  Did anything change on your machine?

144 (the previous version) crashed as well
154 and 144 version    the JR plays back fine for a while  say 20 or 30 minutes , then crashes. it happens even when JR is idle.
Nothing changed on my machine.

I preordered version 20 but I doubt if the new version would be crash free

tried version 19.0.131 . does not solve the problem. extremely disappointed.

I am also having the same problem, with worst case. At first, I also bought JR 20, and upgraded 19 from 18.  today the JR19 crashed on my mac pro OS X 10.9.4. The computer hangs, so decided to force quite but the situation was worrisome. Here is the one! All files were disappear!!!

Then I try to sync Dropbox. All were going well. But when I try to open the JR19 (at this time I am sure that as soon as the JR opened, it crashed) it crashed again and the dropbox folder disappeared!! Not only dropbox, but also music, video and pictures are also disappeared! There may be another reason, but I am curious to know from this forum.

Anyone having the same trouble?

I'm getting crashes too. [dedicated Mini].
The UI freezes, I get a "tone" sound [like when the old tv stations went off-air] and after about 10-15 seconds later MC19 [154] closes and then a re-open message. This can happen when playing or at idle and occasionally if just correcting some meta data.
I never had this till the last couple of versions.

Unfortunately the same problem continues even after a fresh install of JR.
Not only do I get a freeze but also it is accompanied by a buzzing tone than continues until the crash is complete and JR closes.
I have had crashes with the last 2 versions but the buzzing tone is new with .154

abolit:  Thanks for the crash reports and logs.  From the reports, it looks like the problem occurs while closing the logging function which is very strange.  Does it also crash with logging disabled?  For the next build, I'm going to remove logging from the function that's using it just to test if that's the actual issue.

GROBEC: There was a recent fix in the audio engine which will be in the next build.  Please try that one and let us know if it fixes the problem.  It should be out within a day or two.

I have a similar problem. I installed MC 20 today. It crashes about 10 seconds after I launch it and gives me: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000 (full crash report attached). I have run disk utility and have tried the system without peripherals, but have not yet found anything else that could account for this problem. Any ideas?

It looks like it's crashing trying to import one or more of your audio files.  As a temporary work around, if you can quickly go to to Files / Options / Library & Folders and uncheck "Run auto-import in background", it should stop crashing on you.

Then, if you are running version 19.0.154, please update to 19.0.163 and see if the problem persists (re-check "Run auto-import...).  If so, please send me a log file so I can locate which file is causing the problem.  Just go to Help / Logging and enable logging.  Then run MC until it crashes, then restart MC and go to Help / Logging / Report problem...
You can send the log to "logs at jriver dot com" (replace "at" with @ and "dot" with .)

I'm running the latest release (Sept. 10, 2014) and I found that switch under Tools. Unchecking it allowed me to get past that crash. Thank you. Much to learn yet!
