how to get mc20 to look like mc18?
« on: September 12, 2014, 09:39:13 am »

I have been running MC18 for a long time, I just purchased and installed MC20.

Do I now need to copy my MC18 library file out and put it in the MC20 library folder so I can keep all my customization?

Thanks

Yes.  Backup the library in MC18 and restore it in MC20.

Thanks, library sucessfully ported over, all is good.

I have noticed that when I installed MC20 on my main computer and then on my laptop, when I go to put in the registration code, my code is all ready filled, how is this possible?

I am missing something or not doing something right?

If the code is in your clipboard, it will automatically fill it in.

OK, I did have the code on clipboard, so that makes sense.

However now I have a huge issue, after installing MC20 and restoring my MC18 library to it, I looked at MC20 and all my replay gain settings aren't there, I spent 100's of hours perfecting the replay gains on all my tracks, why aren't they showing up?

Also now that I have MC20 installed I am trying to uninstall MC18 and I can't uninstall it, what's with that?

Thanks Again

You may have to install the latest build of MC18 first, then uninstall.  See "Old versions" on our wiki.

MC20 uses Volume Level (R128), so you'll need to reanalyze your files.  The payoff in the end will be worth it.

Ok, forgot about the new method, truth be told it didnt take me 100's of hours before, I only got 12,000 tracks, it cant take that long.

Thanks

There was a bug with uninstalling MC18 that should be corrected in the last version of MC18, but there's a workaround if that's not doing it.  The work around is to run MC 18 once, click through the UAC prompt, and then uninstall it.  If that doesn't work, you're seeing something else.

thanks, that did the trick, all is well now, just have to redo the replay gain on my tracks with the newer method in MC20 and I am good to go.

Thanks
