When I select a file, then Send To > Playlist > insertanyplaylistname the files are not added to this playlist.  I've tested this from Playing Now, Media Library, and another playlist.  This happens in both v196 and v197.

Import of m3u files leaves some mp3 entries off the playlists.  Even the workaround that worked for 8.0.196 does not work here.  In fact the workaround lost more entries than the normal import.

Helloooooo.   Hellooooo.  (Sorry)

I did an uninstallation of version 8 to revert back to version 7.  This seemed to work fine.  I then re-upgraded back to version 8, but when I looked at my library, all my mp3's had "C:\Program Files\Media Jukebox" as there location.  I have never installed MJ on drive "C" so I think we have a tiny wittle bug....  Squash it, please!!!

Ok, here's a new one for me...  I have lost access to my CD Burner.  I have a Yamaha 4x4x16 EIDE drive that used to work fine.  Just happen to notice in this newest version while doing some option tests that my drive disappeared from the burn option...  Really REALLY bad.....  ;-)

Hi,
In the Playing Now display, if you switch to track info or main and switch back the currently playing track is lost from the display - it seems to disappear off the top.

Mini-Me tooltips don't display properly when the skin is near the right edge of the screen. The tooltip always displays at the same position beneath the button, regardless of the position of the skin w.r.t. the edge of the screen. Positioning of tooltips should take the right edge of the screen into account and move left so that they are fully visible.

Hi,
Tried to rip/encode a CD this evening with the MP3 VBR encoder.

Cannot create plug-in 'MP3 Encoder VBR' then 'Encoder does not support buffered input' (It did last week. :-) )

I then switched the device to Digital Unbuffered and tried again. This time MJ crashed and burned and XP asked to send an error report.

I noticed in the plug-in manager that I'm running 2.0.43 but your encoder web page says the latest is 2.0.42.

Bugs:

1. I've reported this one a few times...still not fixed.  If you use Windows Explorer to 'Add to Playing Now' files not imported into MJ, MJ caches information about the external files (file size, tag/no tag, playing time, etc).  So, if you delete the files from MJ's Playing Now and requeue them to Playing Now using Windows Explorer again, MJ does not pickup any file changes.  So, if the track was downloading or I update tag data externally, MJ does not show the updates.  This problem is so bad that even stopping and restarting MJ does not clear the cached information (even if the tracks were deleted from MJ prior to restarting).  This must mean MJ is storing the non-imported file information in a database somewhere.  The only thing I've found that works is to rename the files or move the files to another location on the hard drive.  Please, please, please acknowledge and fix this problem in a future MJ 8.0 release as it is very, very annoying and bothersome to work around (my opinion, of course).

2. Wimamp skin support is still bugged...just try using the Media Jukebox skin from v7.2 for a while...

Minor Bug (but still anoying) - Options / General / Behavior / Double-click = Add to Playing Now (to END).  With this selected, a double-click with nothing playing, does NOTHING.  It should start the song being double-clicked and then all subsequent double-clicks should add the song to the end of the play list.....

I tried to rip a CD to test the functionality (alright, plus its a new one and I haven't ripped it yet), and I am told that my 30 day trial is over.  Which is kind of funny because when I started MJ, it told me I had twenty (20) days left....  Things that make you go "hmmmmm"...

Installed .197 and my CD burner ... was later found at Joe's Pawn on 34th St.

It's late, and it struck me as funny when folks said that new software was causing hardware to "disappear."

Sorry.

- lost my cd burner as well (winXP)
- REMAINING_TIME, TOTAL_TIME etc. does not work in mini-me
- "Send To playlist" does not work
- Options/Playback/Output/Mode/Settings/Performance : this setting is not saved when chosing e.g. "More skip resistant", you can see this if you set it,
play a song and go back and see, back to default setting
- Is it possible when you click on "Playlists" in the toolbar that the playlist tree will be expanded ? (same for media library and playing now etc.)
- Is it possible to see the name of the filter that has been set in the Status bar or the tooltips ? (also that SKIP or PLAY has been set)

MJ 8.0.x Imports...
« Reply #30 on: February 05, 2002, 05:45:43 am »

I really liked the old way of viewing recently imported tracks. The new way appends items to a "Recently Imported" playlist, making it difficult to find the smaller number of items added. (There are 1500|PLS| items on the list and I just imported another 15 and have to search to find them.)

Hi - I've got to admit that I agree with marysm - it would be good to configure (in options) when recently imported is cleared in some way - # days old or something like that.

Also, right click on recently imported could offer "Clear list".

Often when I first startup MJ8, the left pane (Home, Now Playing, etc.) will be completely blank. If I select the File or Edit buttons at the top so the dropdown menus overlap the left pane, the left pane items are displayed. I've actually had this problem since the first beta, but figured someone else would have had the same problem and brought it up.

Check this out - After I realized that my burner had disappeared, I hit Ctrl-J to see if there where any updates.  An update popped up for "CDWriter".  I let it install, however I received no confirmation that it was successful.  And even after a reboot, still no burner...  Sik!!

I imported by selecting "Ignore tag information".  All tags were ignored, except for the MJ custom fields.  I understood these were now saved in id3 v2 (extended) tags.  I don't know if this is a bug or a feature.

Right now, "Recently Imported" is just a regular playlist.

We can make it a special case like "Top Hits" and "Recently Played", but then you lose the ability to use recently imported in all the cool ways that you can use a conventional playlist.

So, it's sort of six of one, half dozen of the other.

Matt,
I like the functionality of having a recently played playlist so that I can work in one area to update tags, move files, do replay gain etc. so I think we definitely need the list.

At the same time, I really preferred the way it worked in MJ7. I'm sure some people like it like it is now though.

How about making it a smart list... with a search of "import days < x". It seems right now the option to search by date and greater/less than don't exist, and the 'date' looks like system modification date. (I'd like greater/less than for time, bitrate as well.)
