BUG: Windows Startup option no longer works
« on: November 14, 2014, 09:14:19 am »

Since upgrading from 19 to 20, the startup option when the PC reboots no longer functions.

I am running Windows 7 which logs on automatically. Media Centre 19 used to then start and go into theatre mode so no interaction was required from rebooting the machine. Now, media centre 20 does not start but if I run the app manually it goes into theatre more.

I use this and it's working in MC20, so maybe something about the startup process is different on your machine.  Try adding a delay if you can.

Make sure you're not also running another version of MC at the same time.

Working for me as well.

Note that when you upgrade between major versions, the Library gets auto-migrated, but Settings do not.  So, when I switched, MC19 would continue running in the tray.  You have to disable it there (or uninstall) and enable it in MC20.  You can't auto-launch both.

You can make a Library backup in MC19 and then restore it in MC20 to migrate settings over, but you have to do that manually.

I entered all the settings again and it works correctly now! I guess my upgrading from 19 means some of the old settings were still in place and took precedence over the 20 install although the 20 settings showed the startup as being set.

Many thanks
