Stop WDM Driver Install
« on: November 25, 2014, 10:47:35 am »

Hi,

Is it possible to uninstall the WDM driver or at least stop it from making itself the default device. I have my MC20 configured to use WASPI however when I am not using MC20 I prefer just to use the built in audio driver on my HP laptop. Problem I have is that the JRiver WDM driver auto assigns itself either after a reboot or after I have booted MC20 and its a right PITA ?.

Don't get me wrong, Matt and the guys did a fantastic job getting this to work and on my main Media Centre at home I use it but on my laptop it just causes way to many problems.

Thanks.

Please read the main WDM thread.  There is a /nodriver switch if you install from the command line.

Thanks Jim.

Just found way to many threads about WDM.

Will subsequent updates auto install the WDM driver in the future if I initially install with the /nodriver switch.

New builds shouldn't set the driver as the default.  There's a little magic here because Windows does whatever it wants, but I think we're avoiding it now.
