Machine not visible
« on: December 05, 2014, 07:09:21 am »

Ok this is the situation :
All mac

The server is called tralala (MC19)= headless mac mini (server=yes/renderer=Y/controller=N)

Client 1 is called muziek (mc19)= macbook pro (server=N/renderer=Y/controller=Y)

Client 2 is called film (mc19)= imac (server=N/renderer=Y/controller=Y)

Then there are several other renderers in the house which are not specific for MC, but generic ones. (TV/pioneer/etc)

Now this is the situation :

On tralala (server) only tralala is shown in now playing (logic since it is not a controller, and does not need to be)
on muziek (client 1) only film and muziek are shown and i can load the library of the server
on film (client 2) (and now it is getting strange) i'm only seeing tralala (server as a client, even if it is not a renderer) and film itself which is logic, however i am not seeing muziek (client 1)

on none of the clients that are also controllers i am seeing my other renderers which are not specific to mc
on JRemote i am only seeing this device and tralala (the server)

All the renderers and server are on the same WIRED network
and JRemote is on the same network but through wifi

there is no firewall on :
- modem (telenet)
- switch (Netgear GS724T 24-Poorts Gigabit Switch )
- none of the macs

i can see all the stuff in my connected list on the network management system from all the different macs

beats me what is going on here, it used to be working before and no important change since then
i've played around with the settings in the server but no luck there either

can someone help me out here ?

Turn everything on for all machines.  That's the default.

Thanks this already solves a number of problems, however Muziek (of course the most important client, the on that connects to the stereo setup) is not showing anywhere
not even in jremote (all the other ones now show up)
