Rip Speed
« on: January 06, 2015, 12:07:29 pm »

As I rip my cds to 2.0, some rip at 10 to 12x and some rip at 1.5 to 2x.  I have the settings set to secure and max speed.  New computer, although inexpensive, with Windows 8.1.  Is there anything I can do to speed it up?

Thanks

I could use some help with this, too.  I have a brand new Mac Mini.  I've disabled all applications except MediaCenter.  I'm ripping "secure" at "max" speed, with "encode while ripping" activated and "analyze audio" disabled.  8x ripping has been fast for me, but 2x to 3x has been frustratingly normal.  Any suggestions?

This actually sounds normal to me. Usually the disc is spun down that low when it's attempting to read scratched discs. If you want faster speeds, disable secure.
