Hi,

I purchased and downloaded an album from HDtracks.com and JRiver is breaking up the single album into three album. The artist name, album name is identical.

This screenshot shows the album containing the majority of tracks : http://cl.ly/image/2n271B0i3o0F

This is one rouge track in its own album: http://cl.ly/image/0J313C090S0u

and another: http://cl.ly/image/0V2Z1R0L1q0o

interesting to note the track numbering is accurate.  As you can see, album is missing tracks 5 & 9 http://cl.ly/image/0D3E2T0s152l.

When i look at the album on my disk, i see all tracks in the correct order and folder.

Is there a way to manually combine these?

I've tried to remove and reimport, but got the same results.

Thanks,
Udi

Udis,

Check that all tag fields in all tracks apart from Track number and track name are the same.

So, check that Artist, Album artist, Album name, Comments, etc. are exactly the same in all tracks (check for extra spaces at the end of the tag also) so that they are considered part of the same album.

The only fields that should have to match in order for MC to group everything into a single album are "Album" and "Album Artist" .  Note that "Artist" and "Album Artist" are separate Tags.  It is possible to have a album in which all tracks have a different "Artist", but they will only be grouped as a single album if the "Album Artist" field matches.

I've attached a screenshot with an example of an album with multiple artists, but a unified Album Artist.

I note that in your images, the Album Artist tag is not shown.  In that case, on the Tag screen, click the little menu icon in the upper left, select Also Show, and choose Album Artist from the list.

thank you.  however, as my screenshots indicated, the album name and artist are IDENTICAL. I just cut and paste the value just to confirm.

i created a little video illustrating the values being identical:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13627305/Media%20Center%20-%20JRiver%20Media%20Center%20.mov

you'll see three tag sets. 1st is the album with most tracks. the other two sets (track 5 and 9) are the rouge tracks.

Album Artist is a 3rd field, independent of Album and Artist. This link should help clear things up.

Be sure to click the additional link at bottom of the Wiki entry (I've included it here) for a visual explanation
