I'm sorry, but I don't understand what this is asking me to do. I don't understand "copy and paste to the thread that announced the build you're using".

I checked for update I am up to date: Version 20.0.64.

You've got a Mac, but you posted in an unrelated thread on the Windows board.  I just split it here.  I'll move it to the Mac board.

Thanks. I see the new location. Sorry about the wrong board posting.

I am wondering how these forum questions / issues get resolved.

Is someone looking at the problem that is posted? Do I need to request a service ticket? Do I need to provide more information?

We haven't seen the problem you're reporting or had any other reports.  If it is our bug, we'll have more reports.

You're doing the right thing to report it here, but it's pretty hard for us to fix something we can't reproduce.

Thank you.

So...I am the only Mac user to have this problem. Lucky me.  :'(

You could:
Repair the permissions
Reset the computer's SMC and/or PRAM

Or:
Delete the "com.jriver.MediaCenter20.plist" file from your preferences:
Close the Media Center app
Change to your Finder
Chose the "go to" menu and press the "ALT" key
Click "Library" that only will be visible, when you press the "ALT" key
Change to the folder "Preferences"
Look for "com.jriver.MediaCenter20.plist" and instead of deleting it, move it to another location, e.g. the desktop
Start the Media Center app.
Some settings might get lost, but no information (plus you still have the original file).
If this doesn't help, delete the new "com.jriver.MediaCenter20.plist" file in the "Preferences" folder and move back the old file.

Or:
Delete the app and re-install it.
This might help too (maybe together with my first idea).

If not, I don't have any more ideas.

Good luck!

OK I know the source of the problem. It is an interaction between KeyCue and JRiver.

I normally run the application called KeyCue. It is an application that allows you to see each of the mac menu shortcuts by pressing and holding the command key.

When I quit KeyCue and launch JRiver I don't get the menu popup.

If I have JRiver running (no menu popup) and launch KeyCue the menu popup occurs.

So I can reproduce the problem consistently...what is the next step?

Also, the behavior of KeyCue is not correct with JRiver. The command key works as expected, but there is another popup menu from JRiver that comes up simultaneously with the KeyCue window.

I have notified Ergonis Software (the developers of KeyCue) about this bug as well.

This is the reply I received from the KeyCue developer:

It is possible that JRiver produces an incorrect reaction when KeyCue asks about the available shortcuts. KeyCue uses standard Apple technology for querying the "accessibility interface". This works reliably for thousands of applications. If there is a problem with JRiver, the developers may be able to tell why this happens.

I can confirm that I'm getting the menu popup problem as well and I use KeyCue.

Definitely a problem when using KeyCue as I've not had the menu popup since quitting KeyCue.

Right now the only thing you can do is quit KeyCue.

The developer of KeyCue emailed me and said that they can issue a new version of KeyCue that disables when JRiver is launched, but he wants to wait until JRiver responds.

Can someone from JRiver respond to this request from the KeyQue developer. A simple response here is all I need. Thank you.

************************************
Yes, we can disable KeyCue in JRiver.

But before we do this, I would like to ask to get in touch with the developers. It would be great if you could get a statement from them. Did they decide to ignore the problem, or do they still plan to eventually fix it?

JRiver uses its own menus, not the OSX menus.  I don't know if we could "fix" this problem.

For KeyQue users. KeyQue has implemented a feature that disables KeyQue when JRiver is open.

Here is how to implement it (from the developers of KeyQue):
***********************
we have now disabled Media Center in KeyCue.

If you have configured KeyCue such that its icon appears in the menu bar, right-click or ctrl-click the icon and select "Check for Updates…".
When the KeyCue icon is not visible, open KeyCue's Settings window and click the "Now" button in the "About KeyCue" tab.

In either case, KeyCue will tell you that your version is up-to-date. You can ignore this message. As a side effect of the version check, KeyCue also updates its internal configuration.
**********************

I have implemented this disable and it works.
