i have a relatively new problem it does not happen frequently but now and then using 20.0.63

suddenly in the middle of a song the music will stop.
 pauzing and starting  will not start the song again. the timer and playhead are not moving. only stopping the song and starting will start playback again.

files are played from memory. files are located on an unraid (nas) server. i know the server sometimes has a short freeze but I asume since the file is played back from memory the file is fully loaded into memory before playing back so a freeze of the server should not stop the file playing mid song.

Yep.  A few.

using 20.0.63

Update to the latest public build, which is as of tonight, 20.0.68.  Get it here.

Also:

the timer and playhead are not moving. only stopping the song and starting will start playback again.

This is typically not a problem with the data delivery (and, as you mentioned, the file is cached in memory anyway).  This is usually a problem with your audio device driver, or your Audio Setup.  Check both.

Lastly:

files are played from memory.

Try turning it off as a test.

i added a log from when it happened this morning

I updated the audio devices firmware ,drivers were up to date.
also updated jriver to latest version.

I will see if it will happen again an try disabling memory playback then

I think its too big now.
i just reset it and keep resetting as long as all is fine to keep it smaller.

Actually, big ones are exactly what we want.  Hopefully it has a crash dump included.

Since this may be a device problem, could you test with another device? 

Please describe the device you're using and how it's connected.

If you're on Windows, please try the build from the top of this board if you haven't already.

It happens to me if paying dsd and using gizmo do volume up or volume down....

I think i found the problem. I noticed the music would stop at the same time i hear somone switch the light switch. So it would be logical that the problem is not in the computer domain. Testing flicking on and of some switches in the hall confirmed it stopped playback. Since it should still be a digital problem i was led to believe its either the spdifconverter or the dac. I use a linear psu that replaces the usb 5v line so I tried removing that first. With the psu removed i tried flicking some of the switches in the hall again. This time i did not manage to stop the music.
I will need to do some more testing. It seems clear however the problem is not with jriver

Oh one question does starting an stopping somehow ressets the connection to the device?
Like plugging the usb in and out?
