JRiver as dlna renderer, samsung bd player as dlna player
« on: February 20, 2015, 05:21:20 am »

I am trying to set up the following config for my network

samsung bd H6500 as player for netflix and amazon to ouput the video and audio streams through the network to my htpc, to take advantage of its dsp options. I am aware that usually dlna is used to do the opposite (from htpc to renderer), but I am interested in this solution since I do not like much the netflix app for windows 8.1.

Can jriver do this? I am aware of its dlna renderer capabilities, but how to exploit them with a samsung player? I can see the player in the listed devices in the playing now folder, but it is grey and in the bd player menus I cannot see any option to play to a device

The dlna option is activated in tools>options>Media network

Any help would be greatly appreciated
