Problem with A7 B&W - Suddenly music doesn't works
« on: March 23, 2015, 12:30:44 pm »

I'm not able to play music on a7 bowen & wilkins. I can see the zone, but every time i try to play songs jriver tells me that there is  problems with the DLNA. The most of times jriver crash down even before to say anything. I also use a pioneer n50 with a ethernet link and i don't have problems.

Someone can help me?

Hello Achinson,

Your A7 isn't connected by an ethernet cable, is it? Is it close to the wireless router or a wireless access point? Are you able to play music with Apple devices using Airplay?

Best regards,
Y. G.

Hello Stefano,

Is the Audio Conversion Encoder for A7 set to PCM 24bit (Tools > Options > Media Network > Client Options > Audio Conversion) by any chances? Have you tried lowering it to PCM 16bit?

Best regards,
Y. G.

Hello Stefano,

That's weird. Make sure setting conversion of audio to "Always Convert", and go for lower encoder setting to "MP3 high bandwidth" and etc, and see if you have the same error or not. If this doesn't work, I guess it's time for others to help you out. If the error happens again, try attaching the entire error message to the post. Make the error log as txt file, and you can attach it to your post by using "Additional Options..."

I know it sounds stupid, but you don't have any other app already using Airplay at the same time, right?

Best regards,
Y. G.

sorry, I don't use Macs so I can't help by reading your error log. Nor do I have anything running airplay.

Have you read this btw? (OK I know its for windows, but airplay really didn't work too well before and now its sounds like that is resolved)

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=95760.0 maybe you can find something in there?

Also, from your crash log it looks like you're running MC 20.0.64.  Try updating to 20.0.87 and see if it helps this problem.

If it still crashes, please enable logging in MC (Help / Logging), then let it crash, then restart and use Help / Logging / Report problem, send the log to logs at jriver dot com

Re: Problem with A7 B&W and Flac Files
« Reply #20 on: April 01, 2015, 01:57:53 pm »

Guys, i know, is my fault, i also read the wiki istructions, but i don't really understand this thing of mail to: logs at jriver dot com .
Sorry again but i'm italian and i have some problem with the language.

Anyway i attach the file then i will try so send.

However i have another problem, i have almost solved the problem using the application "airfoil". Using airfoil i was able to play the  songs directly from my mac. Not using the A7 B&W zone but, just using the jriver player zone.

After few minutes, i didn't do anything, it stop to playing and now (....i will become crazy) jriver don't play anymore the flac files.

JRiver says that can't play on "core audio" exit using "96khz 2c" format.

I didn't setted any option i just tried to use "airfoil". Before the use of airfoil i didn't have any problem.
i was able to play all the kind of formats.

I have also uninstalled jriver but once re installed i have find all the same options and obviously the music doesn't work...

Thanks for all your help, past and future.

but i don't really understand this thing of mail to: logs at jriver dot com .

Hi Stefano instead of giving the mail address like this adress@whatever.com the say at for "@" and dot for "." So they don't get a lot of spam from webbots. Might be best to send it, the mac devs might miss your attachment
