Add ID as renderer to MC20 for Windows
« on: April 04, 2015, 04:53:24 pm »

Haven't found this discussed.

I don't see how to control my ID as a renderer from my Windows MC20 instance. It doesn't show up in the now playing list. I have to control it with web gizmo, which is sort of a blunt instrument compared to MC.

What kind of bonehead mistake am I making?  ::)

Take a look at the Media Network instructions.  Make sure it's turned on on your PC.

A firewall may also be blocking MC.

On both my Windows instance and ID instance of MC20, they are configured in an identical manner to the instructions contained on the media network manual page:

http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Media_Network

The Windows 8.1 firewall has a recorded exception to allow MC20 to communicate on private and domain networks. My home network is listed as a private network in the Windows 8.1 network sharing center.

I still do not see my ID in the "playing now" list.

What's next?  :o
