Author Topic: SACD ISO Files Imports OK, but broken after Rename, Move, and Copy Files  (Read 5761 times)

I have an SACD ISO in a folder. Then I ran the import on that folder and it showed up great in my library, all individual files were there.

When I ran the Rename, Move, and Copy function to move it into the rest of my collection (out of my sandbox), only the first track remains from the album, the rest are missing and playback doesn't work "Something Went Wrong With Playback".

How do I get the filenames and playback functionality back for this ISO after a move? Intuitively it should just rename/copy/move like everything else...

Unfortunately, this is a long-standing issue with the RMC tool, but SACD seems to be a low priority for JRiver.
You can move SACD ISOs with it, but it is an awkward two-step process.

1. Rename (move) Track 1 as "[Album].iso"
2. Immediately update (not rename) the naming scheme for all tracks to fix playback with that newly renamed file.

I'll try this, thank you. I ended up moving the files, deleting them from my library and then re-importing them from the now correct location. It's all good now.

I was frustrated by this bug, too. I hope it could be immediately fixed.

Another variable may play a part;

The Read-Only status on some files (set by the NAS?) causes the move/copy/rename operation to seemingly complete successfully; the UI thinks the files were moved, but Explorer shows them still in the old location only.

Whenever a copy/move/rename operation takes zero time to complete this is what has happened. This needs to be fixed with at least a warning about the Read-Only status when a move operation is attempted (setting the files automatically to read/write would be best).

This might be a contributing factor to the ISO behavior above those files may have been read-only. Either way it needs to be fixed because it affects non-ISO files too. Any big import can become a headache with many ghost files in the library.

This bug is as old as SACD support.  I would also like to see it fixed.  Supporting sidecars for SACDs would at least help in fixing thing when accidentally renaming or moving an SACD breaks it.  Then you wouldn't loose all your tags.

I have a fairly big collection of SACDISO, and this issue has been causing a lot of trouble and lost time for me. Everytime I change file/folder name or if the iso file is changed in any way, it loses all the tagging information. I have to disable auto-import and edit manually each time (if I can remember, but accident happens all the time).  I also would like it to be fixed soon.

  • Long cold Winter...

As far as I know, SACD ISOs don't have a way to save metadata (except by a CUE file, but those can't save album art) so it's saved within the library database - but when it's modified the metadata is lost. The only way I can think of is a way to save and load metadata from an external file (sidecar) however this currently isn't supported as far as I know.

So count me in on the request for sidecar saving and loading of metadata for files like SACD ISOs.

Is there a rule to batch rename all the songs in ISO album from a list in text file? That would save me a lot of work when the tag is lost and I need to rename each songs all over again.

It would be nice to have a more elegant solution, but for now I just manually create the folder where I want it to 'live' *permanently* and drop the .iso & .cue files in it. Select them, right-click>Media Center>Import and all is well.  :P

It would be great if all associated files (JPG, PDF, ISO, CUE, BIN) are simply kept with the music for future purposes. At least a prompt when importing...
