Author Topic: Syncing to phone, what does lower bitrate mean when converting ape files to mp3?  (Read 880 times)

I'm trying to figure out why one of my newest albums (ape file on my pc) when it converts to mp3, its bitrate isn't 320 like all the other mp3's but rather fluctuates between 164 and 189. Why just this one artist? Much of my other music was also synced from ape files and their mp3 versions on my phone are all 320 kbps mp3.
My goal is to have the best listening experience with my phone through headphones. I normally don't listen to music with my phone but rather use my PC and ape files through my home system but am hitting the road for a few weeks and am trying to sync my phone so I can listen while away. I know with ape files the bitrate fluctuates and doesn't have a negative effect on sound quality and am wondering if this is the case with these particular mp3's as well. Thanks for any help you can give.
