I Bought the JRiver JRemote for my IPhone and put in the access key and it connect for a few seconds and then went away and now when I try  and connect it says ! Could not connect ( error: connectfaliure (connection refused))  can anyone please help !!

Some ask Firewall, but it's a brand new iMac and I don't think it has a Firewall, any other suggestions.

OSX does come with a firewall. I believe it is turned off by default, but it is easy enough to check:

For JRemote to be able to connect, the computer will need to allow connections on the port configured in MC under Tools > Options > Media Network > Advanced > TCP Port.

If the firewall is off, this will work by default from any device on the same LAN as the computer (including WiFi). If the firewall is on, you'll need to set it to allow MC, and perhaps open the port described above.

If you are trying to access your computer from outside the LAN (to stream music to your device or to connect using a cellular data connection, for example) then you will need to forward this port through your Router. The instructions for this are specific to your particular router, and we're not really equipped to give you detailed instructions here, but if you search for your router make and model and "port forwarding" on Google, you can probably find some good instructions.

Tried everything in glynor's email and nothing works. I verified the firewall is not up.  I am about to give up.

This is almost certainly a setup problem or network problem, and not a problem with jremote.  If you will be patient, we'll help you solve it.  I removed some of the complaining since it isn't helpful and makes your posts harder to read.

Try resetting your Access Key. In MC go to Tools > Options > Media Network.  Then click on the disclosure button next to the Access Key and choose Reset. This will re-generate a new Access Key, which might very well fix you up.
