MC20 is downsampling my streamed audio
« on: July 10, 2015, 03:36:16 am »

I have a very simple set-up. I have a server PC (Windows 8.1, MC20) in one room and a client PC (Windows 8.1 PC, MC20) in another room, attached to the hi-fi for audio playback.

The MC library is kept on the server PC.

The problem is, when I use the client PC to play back a music file from the server PC with a sample rate of 96 kHz, I only get 44.1 kHz. The client PC downsamples everything from 96 to 44.1. Files that are already 44.1 stay the same.

However, if I put the exact same music files on the client PC's hard drive and play them back through MC, I get the full 96 kHz.

So I think it must be something to do with the DLNA settings.

Can anyone help?

See my other post on your gapless play question.

Quick answer: use server/client and a mapped share rather than DNLA to play to another JRiver instance.

Agreed - see other thread and let's let this one lapse.

Many thanks again, Spike.
