Tagging: entry of special characters
« on: July 19, 2015, 05:06:48 am »

One small annoyance with MC20 is that the Tag editor only allows entry of basic characters. Certain punctuation marks, accented letters etc. can't be typed in, but they can be pasted. Is this likely to be addressed with MC21 ?
For reference, iTunes does allow special character entry when tagging.

What version of MC are you using?

Windows?

No, it's Mac:

MC version 20.0.126
OS 10.10.4

Anyone else experiencing this?
I do have MC19 on a Windows machine: I'll check this later to see if that's free of this issue.
Thanks!

That sounds like it's similar to this problem:

Jim beat me to it!

Use Command-K to enter special characters.  Should do what you're looking for.  :)

OK thanks: I just tested that, and can confirm that it works.
Ideally, it would be good to be able type things like European accented letters and em-dashes directly, if purchasing an upgrade in future.
