Auto-Rip Feature (Consistancy Initiating Auto-Rip)
« on: August 15, 2015, 04:06:46 pm »

Hi All,

I Have been using JRiver for about a year now. Long Story Short, I have installed JRiver on multiple server systems running either

A. Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter
B. Windows 8.1 Enterprise
C. Windows 10

The issue is that auto-rip will sometimes start and sometimes not start. This has taken place on a veriety of platforms and operating system environments. My father (whom I designed a Customized McIntosh Music Server for) has thousands of disks to rip and informed me of the issue that the auto-rip process will not start ripping and importing the files into the library.

I then began to try JRiver across different platforms and operating system environments (all Microsoft based).
The issue proceeds to have the same characteristics. Some times it works... sometimes it doesn't.

I can't deal with your concerns in total but I can tick one off the list (I think):
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/System_Requirements
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Windows_System_Requirements#Windows_Server_Core_and_OS_Enhancers

It would appear that system A falls outside the supported systems for MC. Sorry about that. Nothin' to do with me.

Are you across relevant Wiki advice?

http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Audio_CD_Ripping
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Auto-Rip

And are your system setups consistent where they need to be?
