Audio Lagging and Drop outs on Networked Computer
« on: March 25, 2016, 12:13:49 pm »

Hi - I am new to JRiver.  I have two win 10 machines that are connected by ethernet network.  I have a hard drive (connected by usb) with tons of hi rez music on one machine and plays perfectly locally.  On the networked computer, I can access the hard drive, but playback is spotty -- I'm getting lags and dropouts.  Are there settings I can change to fix this problem?  Thanks in advance for your input!  Peter

Welcome to the forum.

The network may not be fast enough.  You may need to convert to something smaller.

What types of files are they?

Are you using Media Server to play on the client?

Are you using DLNA?

The wiki has topics on these.

Copy a couple of songs over to the other (networked) computer and verify they play properly. That will test the network. If they play okay now, then the network is faulty - if they still don't play then it is most likely something with the computer.
