TV Problem [Solved]
« on: April 12, 2022, 08:04:13 pm »

JRiver 29.028 crashed a few times whilst attempting to watch TV with JRVR.

Managed to get it to work by changing some settings, so there is a work around.
A work around is not a solution, so they do not "Solve the problem"

Last time this happened, there was also a "Workaround" which was then elected to be a solution...?
This particular set of crashes was once again after a pile of windows updates, so these setting had been working until the updates.
I am including the crash reports the AMD system collected as they offer a copy for me to save.
Basically, first time JRiver froze then crashed within seconds of TV start,
I turned off  10 bit passthrough, first change
Then the 2nd crash, time it killed the OS completely, so had to power off and power on
I changed the default frame rate from 24 to 50 (Australian PAL) and it ran for a few second of highly corrupted video then JRiver failed to play tv.
so that was the third crash.
Then I turned off the hardware accelerate video decoding when possible tick box.
Now working again. so a few work arounds were applied.
Attaching AMD crash reports. FYI. last one is attached first. They apply to the first and last crash, none for the failure where power off was needed of course.
Regards

If the OS itself is affected, you may have a driver problem.
