Moving music to phone?
« on: October 15, 2005, 12:14:51 pm »

Hi all,

I now have a 128mb card in my phone (S700i), and i am wanting to use it as a basic media player. Is there anyway i can use MC to move tracks across? Transfer will be by bluetooth, slow i know, but i probably won't do it very often. MC doesn't have to make the bluetooth connection, even if it could copy all the tracks from a playlist into one directory it would make things soooo much easier... Any chance guys?

cheers

I could be wrong, but I think you may be able to find software to mount a bluetooth device as a removable disc.  Then MC could load it.  Try a google search.

Haven't managed to find anything yet, if anyone finds anything please let me know.
I guess i can transfer to a USb stick, then move again to the phone... Bit of a pain, but better than nothing.
Is there any way i can fool MC that a lump of my hard disk is a removable drive?
cheers

Do you think this could be stuck on the wish list?

With the number of phones about to be released with silly amounts of storage there will be many people starting to use them instead of stand-alone players. Might be an idea to catch this emerging market (basically i want you to do this  :) )

With bluetooth being a 'standard' (yeah right) might it be easy to transfer files direct to the phone? failing that a Transfer Folder where files can be drag 'n' dropped from would surfice.
