Where to find help + 'The'
« on: August 17, 2009, 08:11:15 am »

Is the only way to get support on these boards? I know there's the Wiki, but that very basic, I ask because I'd like to read a manual/FAQs/whatever to discover aspects of MC that I don't know about.

For example, I'd like to know if I can sort artists whose names begin with 'the' either under 'T' or with out the 'The'. e.g The Beatles under 'The' or 'Beatles'.

Yes.  This is it.

You can choose to ignore "the".  It's an option in MC.  I think it's also in MJ.

In MC, it's under Options, Tree& View, Sorting.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply - and for sorting out my 'The' problem.

But, you're saying the only place to learn about MC is to ask a question here? Because it's one of those situations where you can only ask the question if you know part of the answer. For example, in the 'The' question, I know other music players that give you that option. But if I didn't, you're saying that there's nothing I can read that can tell me about detailed features, like that, of MC?

This thread explains what we do here.
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=43159.0

Your primary resources are:

1.  The program
2.  A search inside options in the program  (MC14 has a search.  Maybe MC13, too.  Earlier versions don't).
3.  The wiki index.
4.  Help inside the program
5.  Interact (don't forget the search).
