How to set directory struction for syncing on handheld
« on: October 03, 2009, 07:42:58 pm »

I am trying to sync my Archos 504 and I can't seem to get MC14 to make the correct directory structure on the device (like MediaMonkey did).

I want it to be in the Music directory then create folders by Genre.  In each Genre, by Artist.  In Each Artist, Album.  In in each Album, should be the individual file.

When I tried putting:  Music\<Genre>\<Artist>\<Album>\<Track#>-<Title>-<Artist>

in the options (it is the way it is done in MediaMonkey), I get:

D:\Music\_Genre_\_Artist_\_Album_\_Track#_-_Title_-_Artist_\  (all files placed in 1 directory)

Is there a way to tell MC14 to create folders based on Genre, then Artist, Then Album?  The renaming of the files, available in MM, isn't as essential as the directory structure.

Thanks!

Try [Genre] instead of <Genre> .

Take a look at the Library Tools.  Move, Copy, Rename can do this if the syntax is right.

Try a few before you do very many.
