Need Professional Help to complete Installation
« on: June 02, 2013, 10:41:02 pm »

With the help of my local IT person, I installed a music server comprised of a RAID 5 3 TB NAS by Synology, a "control" laptop by Rain Computers, and a DAC by PS Audio (PerfectWave DAC II and network Bridge).  At the time of the initial installation, my IT person and I had difficulty in getting MC to recognize the DAC.   With the help of tech support at PS Audio, we finally got things working.  The system has "blown up" two or three times since then, and has required the attention of my IT person.

We saw that the latest version had some fixes dealing with WASAPI and other things that we thought might make my system more stable.  We uninstalled the older version of MC 18 and installed the 5-25-13 version.  We never could get it to recognize the DAC, even though it was connected to the network and the Rain computer could ping it.

I need the professional help of someone who is experienced in the installation and troubleshooting of MC 18 in networked setups like mine.  With remote access programs for computers (the Rain), location doesn't matter.

Thanks,

Tim

When you update, there is no need to uninstall.  Just download and run the file.

Looks like you use the Network Bridge to play to the DAC over the network.
If this is true, you must use DLNA.
Options > Media Network > Use media network.

WASAPI is only relevant if you connect the PC running JRiver directly to the DAC using e.g. USB, SPDIF, etc.
