Unable to Purchase
« on: June 26, 2004, 11:15:53 am »

First of all, why no email support? Registration issues are better handled that way imo.

But anyway, I've been trying register Media Center 10 and get the error "Duplicate Purchase." I've tried purchasing using Internet Explorer and Firefox .9 and both have the same result. I tried registering with the email: ... and ... the second time. If someone with the company reads this could you verify that I have not been charged multiple times for this (online banking hasn't showed a charge yet, so think that's ok) and perhaps look into why I have been unable to purchase a license.

Thanks,
Marc Peters

Because some of the same questions are often asked.  There is a FAQ here:
www.mediajukebox.com/license

The forum provides a chance for people to find answers on their own, 24 hours a day.  This often works.

Your second purchase has been invalidated.  Your credit card will show a refund early next week.

The FAQ has info on how to install on a second machine.  There is a right click workaround if e-mail doesn't work.  It sounds like your e-mail spam filtering may be overly aggressive.

Thanks for the help. I'm not sure what happened, you are right about my spam filters being tough, anyone not on my list has to go through a challenge/response system. BUT, emails sent to .... @mailblocks.com will go right through, so I should have received any registration details or purchase confirmations and none were sent. Unless Mailblocks screwed up (please let me know if this is the case so I can take it up with them :) )

Honestly, I had read the FAQ's and even tried to put my email address through the restore license but my email address was rejected. I just tried again and this time it took my email address, and I got an email with my installation key. Everything is set now, not sure what went wrong but it's all good now. Thanks for the help.

Our server does send the e-mail.  If you don't receive it, try changing to a hotmail or similar account.

I am also unable to purchase version 10. And I've been a user for perhaps three years or more. The error that I get, when I click the Buy Button, is "Failed to initiate Media Center purchase". I have uninstalled and reinstalled without success. The original 30-day license for MC has expired, as well. There seems to be no remedy, since I paid $25 some years ago, but I let the 30-day license expire. Any ideas?

Could you give me any details on what the email would look like (email address sent from, subject) so that the Mailblocks can have something tangible to look for?

I had a few friends email my sendbeer-saleXXXX@mailblocks.com address (XXXX part edited out), another software site last weekend, as well as 2 from your own site later when I restored my license. So far the only one I didn't receive is the initial email confirming purchase and/or giving registration details. Are you positive it was sent in this instance, as this email address does not have any filters affiliated with it.

Also, considering some of the negative opinions associated with Hotmail, telling me to get a Hotmail account isn't the friendliest advice.   :-\
