Hi folks

I have just upgraded my home network to "g" and everything works fine except the MP101 will not associate with the network. It finds the network ok but then when it trys to associate it says "no network available". It then searches for wireless networks and finds two (both the same) but it still will not associate on either. It keeps going through this process.

I have reset the unit, downloaded the latest firmware rebooted reset and powered down, powered up, restarted the network, removed security. I have also cussed and cursed at it to no avail.

If I put my old "b" network back on it works fine....

Anyone had this problem and can point me in the right direction or shall I bin it and get a CD player?

I have two MP 101's and both do the same thing........

This explains the problems I've been having at home with my MP101.

Anyone have an MP101 working with 802.11G wireless???

There's a couple of alternatives:
Run both 802.11G and 802.11B - the B access points must be pretty cheap now.
Run the MP101 into a wireless bridge (basically an ethernet to 802.11G converter).

Glad it's not just me.. ?

I have plugged my "b" access point into the "g" router and it does work. I now have two networks working side by side.

My point is: Netgear say it will work with the "g" network. Can I make it work? Can I hell!!!!

It would just make everything simpler and tidier...

I have heard, but never verified, that some B devices will pull the speed of the entire G wireless down to B speed, so it may be best to use both if you have the gear (I don't at the moment).

I saw too that the MP101 should support G, I'm wondering if maybe the security confuses it - are you using security?
Or maybe only newer MP101's do (though I think I bought mine late in the life cycle).
