Can't Burn CDs [working now]
« on: July 22, 2007, 06:07:31 pm »

I haven't burned an audio CD in awhile so I believe this is my first attempt in ver 12.

The first time I tried to burn, MC brought up a window that said "Please wait, enumerating drives". This never went away and took over the rest of the computer; had to reset. Next attempt looked like it was going to burn but after 5 minutes of it trying to write lead-in, I gave up. Every attempt after that results in MC telling me to insert a blank cd, which I have done.

I have tried with both of my drives and with different blank CDs. My first attempt was to burn Flac files, after that I converted to wav and still could not burn. I gave up and burned with my regular burning progam with no problems.

Ed,
Could you reboot and reinstall?

If it still doesn't work, try removing other CD related software and unplug any "devices" you can.

We haven't seen a problem like this for a long time.  The last one was Nero.

Okay, I rebooted and reinstalled but no luck. It still keeps telling me to put in a blank cd. Of course, every time I do, Windows autoplay pops up and asks me what I want to do with the blank cd. But, MC still keeps asking for one.

How about the other things I suggested?

I think When A User Deleted The Hardware From Windows And Then Rebooted And Let Windows Reinstall The Hardware And Drivers Also Worked For That User.

Okay, I don't know what to say but now it works? ?  I didn't change anything after my last bad attempt. I would apologize for a false alarm but I know I didn't just imagine the earlier problems. But, all's well that ends well I guess.
